Cliff Campbell is a systems engineer and technical program leader with more than forty years of experience in industrial automation, complex technical systems, and engineering program management. He currently serves as Managing Director of the National Science Foundation Industry–University Cooperative Research Center for Freight & Logistics Efficiency with Electrified and Automated Trucking (FLEET), a consortium of universities and industry partners advancing technologies for modern freight transportation systems.
In addition to his role with FLEET, Campbell serves as Senior Advisor for Research and Industry Partnerships for Purdue's Transportation and Autonomous Systems Institute and previously managed an engineering workforce development program funded by the U.S. Office of Naval Research. His career includes leadership of complex engineering initiatives spanning industrial control systems, cyber-physical training environments, and collaborative research programs connecting government, academia, and industry
